Fallout Day Sale blasts every game in the series to record-low prices on Xbox and PC
There's never been a better time to jump into the iconic post-nuclear RPG series.
Since it's the same day that the tragic nuclear Great War began in the timeline of the Fallout universe, October 23 is widely recognized as "Fallout Day" by the series' fans. The occasion is typically celebrated with reveals or details about upcoming projects in the franchise, and this year, fans were treated to an official release date announcement for the Fallout Amazon Prime TV show. Traditionally, there's also a Fallout Day Sale that brings heavy discounts for all of the Fallout games — and now that 2023's is live, we're happy to report that it's the best one we've ever seen.
From now until the end of October, every single Fallout title is on sale for the lowest prices we've ever seen them go for on both Xbox and PC. If you're interested in picking one or more of them up, you can use the list of deals below to find the game you're looking for. Note that while the best prices are available from GreenManGaming, discounts at other retailers like the Xbox store are nearly just as good.
Fallout 76: The Pitt Deluxe Edition | was $59.99 now $16.83 at GMG (Steam)
Bethesda's experimental multiplayer RPG Fallout 76 has come a long way over the years, and is a much better experience now than it was at launch. This edition features everything in the base game as well as some exclusive items themed after The Pitt, the game's latest major content update.

Fallout 4: GOTY Edition | was $39.99 now $8.50 at GMG (Steam)
Though it lacks some RPG elements, Fallout 4 is, nevertheless, a very fun romp through the post-apocalyptic Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Like Skyrim, it's also an incredible foundation for mods, especially on PC. The GOTY Edition includes all of the game's DLC content.

Fallout 4 VR | was $59.99 now $12.75 at GMG (Steam)
Interested in trying out Fallout 4 in virtual reality? Look no further than the official VR version of the game, which is complete with full mod support.
Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition | was $19.99 now $5.61 at GMG (Steam)
New Vegas is often regarded as the best Fallout thanks to its stellar writing and deep RPG mechanics. It's set in Nevada's Mojave Desert, and primarily revolves around what remains of both the Hoover Dam and Las Vegas a little over 200 years since the bombs fell. The Ultimate Edition comes with all the DLC expansions.

Fallout 3: GOTY Edition | was $19.99 now $4.25 at GMG (Steam)
Bethesda's first take on the franchise after acquiring it from Interplay was Fallout 3, a game that brought the series into 3D for the first time. All things considered, it holds up quite well after all these years if you ask us, and has quite an interesting setting of Washington, D.C.. Snag the GOTY Edition to get all the DLC, too.

Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel | was $9.99 now $2.13 at GMG (Steam)
This squad-based strategy spinoff often goes unnoticed by fans of the Fallout franchise, but it's worth a playthrough — especially at this price. Just be aware that none of what happens in the game is considered canon officially, as it conflicts with the events of later titles quite significantly.

Fallout 2: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game | was $9.99 now $2.13 at GMG (Steam)
Set 80 years after the original game, Fallout 2 tasks you with finding a Vault-Tec Garden of Eden Creation Kit that supposedly has the ability to create and sustain lush ecosystems. With such a device, you'd be able to save your village — a community of tribal folk descended from the fabled Vault Dweller.

Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game | was $9.99 now $2.13 at GMG (Steam)
The CRPG classic that started it all. Nearly 100 years after global nuclear devastation, step out from Vault 13 into the wastes of California and embark on a quest to find a water purification chip to ensure the survival of your fellow Vault residents. Along the way, you'll encounter many of the most significant creatures, characters, and factions in gaming history.

The full suite of discounted games includes both of the classic Fallout and Fallout 2 CRPGs from Interplay Entertainment, its strategy spinoff Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, Obsidian Entertainment's Fallout: New Vegas, and Bethesda's Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Fallout 4 VR, and Fallout: 76.
Something to keep in mind is that while Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Fallout: 76 are playable on both console and PC, Interplay's games and Fallout 4 VR are exclusive to PC. The GOTY/Ultimate Editions of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas that include all their DLC also aren't available from the Xbox store, so you'll need to buy the DLC after getting the base game (don't worry; it's significantly discounted as well).
Alternatively, you could play all of these games through Xbox Game Pass, as they're all included in Microsoft's buffet-style subscription service. You'll need PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate to access Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics, though.
All of these games are great in their own ways — yes, even Fallout 76 — but if I had to recommend just one, it would be New Vegas. Even though the combat mechanics are a bit dated, Obsidian's masterful writing and stellar RPG design make it one of the best Xbox games and best PC games I've ever played. Fallout 4 is also a great option if you want a more modern gameplay experience, especially if you enhance it with some of the best Fallout 4 mods.
